Last November our agents had the opportunity to attend The Global Travel Group’s Conference at the 4* Loews Sapphire Hotel in the Universal Orlando Resort.  We had an amazing four days of  training, conferences, speed networking sessions,  inspiring motivational speeches – from Mr. Motivator himself! – but most of all four fun filled days of the Universal Parks! We even had the amazing opportunity to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, after hours, travel agents only! The perks of being a travel agent!

 

During our time at the #TGTGCONF18, we have picked up on some useful tips that we are very excited to share with our clients. Not to mention the benefits of staying at an in resort Hotel! Below is a list of our top tips that we learned this time round:

 

• Cut the lines with Universal Express – A MUST if you hate waiting. Otherwise be prepared to wait up to 2 hours on a ride!

• Stay at a Universal Resort to get early access – Less ques, less people, less heat!

• Wear comfortable shoes – Be prepared to walk miles, get lost and walk around in circles!

• Wear a small day backpack – Wallet, tickets, maps, snacks, cameras, space for gifts & souvenirs!

• Bring a refillable bottle – You will need lots of water, especially in the heat!

• Be prepared if you get motion sickness – goes without saying!

• Choose Wizarding World of Harry Potter First and Last – Avoid the crowds, worth the wait for the best pictures!

 

 

 

Don’t 

• Buy Corndogs – they taste like pickled sausages wrapped in cardboard!

• Bring your phones/cameras onto 3D/4D rides as they may get water damaged!

• Get your fortune read by a lady in Islands of adventure – She told all of my friends the same thing! Rip off.

• Ask silly questions to the talking fountain at Island’s of adventure – He splashes you!

• Go at peak times – avoid the summer heat, Florida is still warm in October/November!

Do

• Dine at the Greek restaurant Mythos, in Island’s of Adventure

• Get your picture drawn by a Caricature artist, but let them take a picture of you, for them to work from – so you don’t have to wait in the line! Pick it up on the way out.

• Try some of the bars on Universal’s City walk, especially the Karaoke bar – Rising Star!
